Dr. Clay L. Barrow is a compassionate and dedicated leader, widely recognized for his expertise in pastoral care, counseling, and crisis intervention. With over two decades of experience spanning church leadership, academia, and community engagement, he has demonstrated a consistent commitment to fostering spiritual growth and emotional well-being. A skilled communicator and empathetic listener, Dr. Barrow excels at guiding individuals and communities through challenging times with sensitivity and care. His approach combines a deep understanding of spiritual formation with practical strategies for mental health support, grounded in his extensive education and professional training.
Dr. Barrow provides spiritual leadership, oversees church administration, and collaborates with community leaders to address social issues. In his academic role as Professor of Pastoral Theology and Director of both the Center for Chaplaincy and Supervised Ministry, he teaches and mentors future leaders in integrating theory and practice in spiritual care. His teaching spans both Master’s and Doctoral programs, equipping students to excel in their ministries. Dr. Barrow’s academic achievements include a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Theology and Care, a Master of Divinity with a focus on Black Church Studies and Pastoral Care and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science. With exceptional expertise in community engagement, educational program development, and Practical Theology, Dr. Barrow is an invaluable asset to the WMCA board.
